Hello! I'm Christina, and I'm seeking your vote as OCBA Secretary.
I serve as the Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for St. John Knits, the American heritage fashion brand founded in Orange County and known for its nearly 60-year history dressing confident women. I'm proud to be one of them. I have led global legal affairs for the multinational company during a critical era of its evolution.
I am extremely committed to public service and to the community, particularly through the OCBA.
I have been a board member for the last 5 years, and have served as Chair of the Corporate Counsel Section and the Membership Task Force, as well as on several committees. I am Co-Chair of the Charitable Fund’s “Raise Your Glass”, the hallmark fundraising effort that went virtual for the first time this year.
This year, I stepped up as an active leader for OCBA’s trailblazing COVID-19 Task Force, helping navigate the bar through this unprecedented crisis. Times of crisis call for community. There is no better community for attorneys than what we have here in the OCBA.
My priority as your Secretary will be to bring the various parts of the bar together during these tumultuous times, to serve not just OC lawyers, but the public good.
Further, I believe that the OCBA should be a key source for members to meet fellow talented attorneys, judges, neutrals, and for attorneys in the private sector, prospective clients, in order to support attorneys through the challenges facing our profession, and to better serve our increasingly diverse business community. For example, I founded an annual event on behalf of the OCBA that features must-know general counsel who share their inimitable insight and mentorship with the Orange County Bar’s young lawyers.
I speak nationally on the topics of counseling business clients, the attorney’s voice in the boardroom, and personal branding, and am honored to have been recognized by the Orange County Business Journal as General Counsel Rising Star of the Year. I received my law degree from UC Irvine School of Law, where I was a leader in the law school’s prestigious inaugural class. I dedicated myself to becoming one of the school's most accomplished early stakeholders, working with Dean Erwin Chemerinsky to start the student bar association and the law review, for which I was co-editor-in-chief. This is exemplary of the dedication and commitment I will bring as your Secretary.
Beyond my leadership in the legal and business communities, I love dedicating time to the arts and cooking up delicious meals for family and friends. You are always welcome at my table. I truly believe that the OCBA should provide its members with positive community-building to support balancing their practice with life’s other pursuits.
I would be honored to serve as your Secretary. Thank you for your support.
